Office Administration students celebrated their graduation on Friday, 12th February, at Regional Skills & Training Centre, Dundalk. This programme is taught by RSTC tutor, Michele Mc Givern.

Minister of State for Business and Employment, Ged Nash TD, attended the ceremony.

He was welcomed to the Training Centre by Area Manager, Peter Egan, along with Assistant Manager, Ray Murphy and Michele Mc Givern.

Mr Nash took a tour of the Centre, where he chatted to students and staff along the way. He saw many skills and trades put into practice. He witnessed students and apprentices practicing their crafts in our workshops including; Toolmaking, Carpentry, Welding, Electrical, Pipefitting and Computer Skills.

Office Administration is a 49 week programme. Through a combination of classroom learning and practical work placement, our students learn essential office skills; including use of office equipment and computer applications, customer service, document production and use of filing systems. They also receive training in career planning and job seeking skills.

Upon successful completion of exams, a QQI Level 5 Major Award in Office Administration (5M1997) is achieved.

Our learners are now equipped to work in a variety of office settings or progress to further education.
